Your donations have helped dozens of cancer patients and their families enjoy a much-needed break on us.
As a charity we’re completely funded by donations, so your fundraising is vital in helping us cover the running costs of our holiday home in Cornwall. The home allows patients respite before, during, or after cancer treatment and a chance to make memories with loved ones.
The holiday home was purchased with money left to us by Keven Beer from Plymouth. We wanted to use Mr. Beer’s donation to create a legacy in his name that would benefit patients for years to come.
Thanks to Keven’s gift, and your donations, we can offer free holidays to men who have been diagnosed with prostate, penile or testicular cancer.
One patient who stayed at the home said: “First of all, huge thanks to Mr Beer’s legacy and the Chestnut Appeal team for purchasing a holiday home in which we can relax.
“We have had a fantastic week, blessed with sunshine every day. We unwound from this chaotic world, talked, played cards and visited some lovely places. Thank you so much for this.”
Every single donation, no matter how big or small, will help us to provide these vital breaks to cancer patients. The money we receive also helps us fund specialist staff and equipment to make the treatment of cancers easier, and to spread awareness of men’s cancers.
We have strict guidelines for who can enjoy a free holiday at the home, so that it’s there for those who need it most.
