Chestnut charity ambassador and Royal Navy Submariner Wesley McGuinness has come third overall at the English Bench Press Championships.
Petty Officer Catering Services (SM) McGuinness was representing the Royal Navy at the competition in Northampton last month when he secured a place on the podium.
As well as securing third place overall, PO McGuinness won his weight class with a 200kg bench press – the biggest weight ever recorded by Royal Navy personnel at an NGB sanctioned event. What a fantastic achievement for PO McGuinness, and a historic milestone for the Royal Navy.
Wesley McGuinness has been an ambassador for The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health since 2022, and has helped us to spread awareness of prostate, testicular and penile cancer amongst young men in athletics and the Armed Forces
