Returning in 2024! The Coast2coast Copper Trail Noir and Noir Boomerang!
A 12 Mile, timed self-navigation trail run from Devoran Quay on the South Coast of Cornwall all the way across to Portreath on the North Coast…at night! Once again this event will be in support of The Chestnut Appeal and a limited number of discounted Charity places are available. Runners will register in Portreath from 2pm before being bused over to the start point at Devoran from 4pm. The race will start at 5pm on Devoran Quay on Saturday 13th January
The Boomerang
Not far enough for you? The Boomerang is a 24 Mile out and back along the trail starting and finishing on Portreath Beach with the turnaround point on Devoran Quayside:) You will register at Portreath SLSC from 2pm and start on Portreath beach at 3.45pm.
There is a 5 hour cut-off time for the standard distance and 6hrs 15minutes for Booemrang. Runners will be issued a GPS tracker with a live link to the route along at race registration. A kit check will also take place here too. There will be a checkpoint at the halfway point laden with fluid & salt / sugar snacks.
All runners must carry the following essential items:
- A fully charged mobile phone with charger, issued GPS tracker
- Headtorch with spare battery
- Spare warm clothing in a waterproof bag (hat/leggings/gloves/top)
- A hi-vis top or reflective strips-clothing
- Small first aid kit
- Nutrition
- Compass (phone app acceptable)
- Minimum 500ml fluid.
All runners will receive a Coast to Coast Copper Trail Noir medal & there will be awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd male & female!
We will have hot soup, crusty bread & sausage rolls waiting for you at the finish!
This way-marked trail follows two historic transport routes across Cornwall first opened in 1812, helping the mines transport copper to the ports of Portreath & Devoran.
