We are delighted to be able to give thanks to The Hospital Saturday Fund for making a grant to the charity for £2000.00 towards our running costs.
To obtain a grant for running costs is actually quite difficult, demand is high and grant making funds are few. At a time when we typically relied on event income for our work, it was heart breaking to see so many cancelled, those we were able to arrange in the late summer were a lot smaller than we needed, along side this other community events didn’t happen, like golf days, walks and parties. Freemason, Rotary and Lions clubs didn’t meet and other groups and clubs cancelled activities too, meaning the pandemic saw our income decimated, with a loss of around 60%. We were not entitled to any support from government or any local council grants either.
So this grant means a great deal, especially during a global pandemic and a tough time for us all, so thank you to The Hospital Saturday Fund for showing such kind generosity and helping with our running costs.
