The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health has teamed up with ‘mypsa tests’ to help men to check their health.
Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK, but catching it early can make all the difference. Unfortunately, early symptoms of prostate cancer are often non-existent, meaning the disease can progress without warning.
The good news is that a simple blood test could help detect prostate cancer before symptoms develop.
The PSA test is not routinely offered by GPs, but will be available for free for men aged 45+ at the Westward Inn from 11am this Saturday 8th November. The Westward Inn. Lee Mill. Ivybridge.

If you are aged 50 and over, or over 45 with the possibility of higher risk factors, then please book your place today via the link below.
Those at higher risk of prostate cancer include those with a history of the illness in their families, and men with Afro-Caribbean heritage.

About the PSA test
Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. Early diagnosis is crucial but difficult, as there’s often no symptoms of prostate cancer in its early stages.
The PSA test is a blood test that measures the amount of prostate specific antigen (PSA) in your blood to help diagnose prostate problems – including prostate cancer.
It’s important to note that, while a high level of PSA can suggest prostate problems, someone can have a high PSA for many harmless reasons, too.
