MRi for Screening

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a type of scan that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the inside of the body.

The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health has funded several MRi-Fusion scanners in the region, to make the detection of prostate cancer more accurate, and we are very interested in how these studies progress *see link

Although a larger study will be needed, this study is fantastic news and shows real progress. The PSA test, is for now, the best test men have for prostate cancer, so please don’t let this news put you off getting tested. We believe a screening programme is coming to the UK, however in the meantime, please get checked, don’t leave things.
