Lostwithiel Rotarians hit £10,000 fundraising milestone

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Lostwithiel for their generosity in recent years.

Earlier this week the Club donated £400, bringing the total amount raised for The Chestnut Appeal over the past seven years to an incredible £10,000.

Geoffrey Phipps, a Rotarian of the Rotary Club of Lostwithiel, was kind enough to speak about his prostate cancer journey at the launch of our new Healing, Surviving & Thriving book. At the launch, which took place last week (Tuesday 10th March), Geoffrey spoke about the importance of the new book in helping cancer patients to thrive, not just survive, when living with their diagnosis.

As a charity, we’re completely reliant on donations from the community to fund our work supporting prostate, penile and testicular cancer patients across Devon and Cornwall.  Thanks to the hard work and generosity of local groups such as the Rotary Club of Lostwithiel, we hope to continue supporting patients, investing in treatment and offering early-detection screening for many years to come.

Stephen Lay, Club President of the Rotary Club of Lostwithiel, said: “Our involvement with The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health makes me proud to be a Rotarian

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be more closely involved…keep up the good work.”

If you or someone you know is affected by prostate, testicular or penile cancer, our free patient and family support groups across Devon and Cornwall offer a space to connect with others who understand what you’re going through.
