Cynthia celebrated her 70th birthday by taking part in this year’s swim around St Michael’s Mount and raising a Fantastic £2,000 for the Chestnut Appeal.
Cynthia Hollinsworth is a bit of an endurance swimmer and likes to swim breast stroke; following in her father’s footsteps being a great swimmer himself who used to swim before morning surgery.
Being a breast cancer survivor, Cynthia is all too aware of the importance of early detection and took part in the swim to help raise awareness and funds for a charity close to her heart.
‘I want to support the Chestnut Appeal to show support to friends who have faced and some of whom are still facing men’s health challenges: Colin my dear friend and amazing Kundalini yoga teacher, Tony a true friend, professional mentor and colleague. David, husband of Norma and Andrew, husband of my long-standing school friend Wendy.’
After completing the swim Cynthia was surprised to see friends Tony and Liz who had come down from Knowle near Solihull to support her!
