Ella and Gemma, Resuscitation Officers at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, discovered a love of open water swimming last year. They have been swimming together all winter, just in swimming costumes!
The Chestnut appeal is a charity close to Gemma’s heart after losing her Dad to Prostate Cancer. This seemed the perfect swimming challenge and Ella didn’t take much convincing to join in.
Please support the girls and give anything you can. Every penny goes towards the great work the Chestnut appeal does. Prostate Cancer is killing 1 man every 45 minutes in the UK. The Chestnut appeal funds salaries of Specialist Prostate Cancer Nurses, provides equipment for Prostate Cancer care and funds the latest treatments that may not be available on the NHS. Their mission is to also raise awareness of Prostate, Testicular and Penile Cancer and to encourage Men to talk about their health and seek help when they feel something could be wrong. These cancers are usually treatable when caught early but are often devastating when left.
Thank you for your support.
