Eleanor’s Drake’s Island Swim

I’m raising money for the Chestnut Appeal for men’s health by donning my wetsuit and swimming across to Drake’s Island and back (the island behind me in the picture). Only 2 years ago the most swimming I could manage was ‘old lady breaststroke’ bobbing up and down in a pool, and I would never have thought of entering an event like this. However, after learning to do ‘proper swimming’ and swimming in the sea throughout the winter, I feel fairly confident I can make the distance, although 1.5km across a shipping lane and in a large group will be a challenge!

All money raised will go to the Chestnut Appeal and the fantastic work they do supporting men with cancer. Thank you for your support!
