On Sunday 18th July I’ll be taking part in my first open water distance swim – in aid of the Chestnut Appeal. This charity is at the forefront of prostate cancer care across the south west, and fundraise for the very latest in treatments and technology – including funding the salaries of specialist prostate cancer nurses, providing equipment for prostate cancer care and funding the latest treatments that may not be available on the NHS. It’s been a really tough year for everyone, but charities like the Chestnut Appeal rely on donations to carry out their work, so if you can spare a few quid, that would be fantastic!
You can find out more about the work of the Chestnut Appeal here (and if you’re a swimmer too, check out all their fundraising swims across Devon and Cornwall)
The fundraising is open until the day after the event, the entrance fee covers all the event costs so any funds donated will go direct to the charity.
