Following recent knee arthroscopy for torn medial meniscus, getting back to the pool has been the best rehab, physically and mentally.
So, as knee recovery is going well so far, I thought a challenge and focus for next year (for my 60th birthday maybe) would be a good plan. So whilst rebuilding on my own rehabilitation and fitness, I am embarking on a third Breakwater Swim to raise funds once again for the Chestnut Appeal.
However, at one of my morning rehab swims, a fellow gentleman swimmer shared he had recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer and currently going through treatment. I have now come in contact with a few gentlemen who are now battling on, so there are still lots that need this invaluable help.
So, instead of waiting for 2026, I’ve decided to get on with it, so Sunday, 20th July 2025 it is then. So time to get some serious training in as it’s been 10 years since I did my first Breakwater Swim, and I’m not getting any younger. As of today (8/3/3025) I have 134 training days. So here we go – Lets do this for the boys!
I appreciate cost of living is hitting hard for so many, but if you do have a few spare pennies for this worthy cause, anything, no matter how small, all is greatly appreciated.
Many thanks!
