The Chestnut Appeal Burgh Island swim marks its 15th anniversary this year.
Each summer, around 250 people join us in this rare opportunity to swim around the iconic Devon landmark while raising money for a fantastic cause. This year’s event, taking place on Sunday 12th July, is set to be one of our biggest swims yet!
The 2011 Burgh Island Swim was the first time we’d ever run this kind of swim fundraising event, but it kickstarted a close relationship between Chestnut and sea swimming. Since that first loop of Burgh Island all those years ago, our events calendar has grown to include five iconic swims throughout Devon and Cornwall.

If you or someone you know is affected by prostate, testicular or penile cancer, our free patient and family support groups across Devon and Cornwall offer a space to connect with others who understand what you’re going through.
