Stop men dying needlessly from cancer

0

Every 45 minutes a father, brother or son dies of prostate cancer in the UK.

We've been working across Devon and Cornwall for over 25 years.

Help us fight prostate, penile and testicular cancer for another 25 years. Donate today.

I have a huge amount of thanks and appreciation of the outstanding professionalism which resulted in my life being saved.

I cannot thank The Chestnut Appeal enough for the work that they do.

How your donation saves lives

We fund specialist nurses and the latest treatments that might not be available
Your donation funds equipment and new buildings like the new Chestnut Unit
We campaign and raise awareness of Prostate, Penile and Testicular Cancer
We started over 25 years ago as a charity supporting prostate cancer patients in the South West. Since then, we've expanded to include testicular and penile cancer, so that we can support even more people. We believe that every person affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and penile cancer should get the help and support they need.

We raise funds that pay for the very latest equipment and specialist nurses that fight these cancers. We develop patient-led support groups and offer free holiday breaks for those recently diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment.

We can only do that with your help. Thank you.

Perry's story

Perry was diagnosed with prostate cancer after a shock diagnosis. He is now one of our biggest supporters, fund-raisers and most importantly, a friend for life.

It was a shock, like everything is when you’re told you’ve got cancer. You think, “oh, what the hell is this?”

In the end, it was my wife who helped me and everything else by saying, “come on let’s, kick this out. Let’s have a go at it and see what happens.”

And when I first went for my first session of biopsies, I found out there was a charity called The Chestnut Appeal. I read up on them and went down to see the guys there. And I thought, yeah, it’s time. This is right for me now.

I started to go to a few meetings with one of the support groups. It’s hard for me to describe the support I got from the Chestnut Appeal through everything I went through. Basically, they saved my life.

Thank you for your support. It's making extraordinary changes.

In 2023, the dedicated Chestnut Unit at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth – partly thanks to The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health. The unit will help men’s cancer patients from across the South West to access treatment and support.

Your donations and fundraisers are today helping the hospitals, doctors and experts fighting men’s health.
