It's all change at the top after more than a decade

21st June 2016

After more than a decade as chairman of the board, Consultant Urologist and Co-founder of the charity has stepped down from his position. He has led the charity from inception to what it is today and we will be ever grateful to the hard work and dedication of Andrew Dickinson.

Looking forward we welcome his successor, Carolyn Giles. Carolyn moved to Plymouth over 20 years ago and began her career with the NHS in the early 90s having completed a degree and professional qualification at Plymouth University, and has worked in the field of HR ever since. After the NHS she worked for Devon and Cornwall Constabulary in Plymouth and left the public sector in 2002.

Carolyn embraced the private sector and ran her own business in the City for 12 years, before joining Kitsons solicitors to widen the offering of their employment team. Carolyn works with SMEs across Devon, Cornwall and beyond, including many in the healthcare sector, specialising in employee relations issues and working alongside managers to resolve some of their more difficult ‘people’ issues. Outside her work and the Chamber Carolyn is a School Governor, a Trustee for the Chestnut Appeal and loves jumping in the sea in all weathers as one of the many ‘Wild Swimmers’ in Devon and Cornwall. Carolyn has 2 boys who share her passion for Plymouth (and PAFC).

We welcome her as the new Chairwoman and look forward to working with her.
