Burgh Island Swim

Date: 17th September

A chance to take part in a truly iconic swim. The Chestnut Appeal for Prostate Cancer is holding its sixth annual swim around Burgh Island on Sunday September 17th 2017 with a swim time around 10.00am.

The Burgh Island swim in South Devon and is one of the most spectacular round island swims in the country and the Chestnut Appeal event attracts swimmers from far and wide.

Swimming in the sea can be challenging and it is asked that all those who take part have experience of open water swimming and can complete a distance of around 100 lengths of a 25m pool.

Safety is always a top priority and as with all the Chestnut Appeal swims the event will be supported by the team from Event Water Safety who will provide all the necessary craft and expert cover for the swim.

Registration for the swim is £30 and we ask that all those who take part try and raise a minimum of £50 through sponsorship. To date the Burgh Island swim alone has raised around £100k for the charity.

Your entry to the Burgh Island swim includes; a medal on completion of the swim, full water safety support from Event Water safety, an event swim cap, water and an end of swim snack.
