We are delighted to announce that The Big Lottery Fund has helped us set up and launch a brand new project at the charity.
The Chestnut Appeal Awareness Network is a project dedicated to spreading awareness right across Devon & Cornwall. As you may know, Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men yet alarmingly less than 20% know where their prostate gland is, let alone what it does, so much work needs to be done to address this.
It’s really up to all of us to spread the message, if you think something is wrong or if you have prostate cancer in the family and are over 45 then a visit to your GP is a necessity.
That’s where The Chestnut Appeal Awareness Network comes in, we can’t spread this message without you, we can’t increase awareness without help.
If you would like to be part of a brand new network then please get in touch with us, even if you are not sure what you could do to help.
Not only will you get to meet lots of people in your area but by talking about prostate cancer, by posting a flyer in a church hall or by going along to an event as an ambassador of The Chestnut Appeal, you might just save some ones life.
We’ll give you training on aspects of prostate cancer and we will also brief you on the latest work at the charity as well as providing you with all the necessary kit to help you look the part.
So if you want to join us, help us, if you want to make a real difference in your local community then please let us know. You can contact Lesley-Ann anytime:
